EnTouch Controls Chief Technology Officer to Speak at Southern California OpenADR Alliance Meeting

Ifty Hasan to Speak on Demand Response and Energy Management for Optimized Buildings

RICHARDSON, TEXAS – May 12, 2015EnTouch Controls, a market leader of energy management as a service (EMaaS), today announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Ifty Hasan, will speak on demand response (DR) and energy management for optimized buildings at the OpenADR Alliance Meeting at the Southern California Edison (SCE) Education Center in Irwindale, Calif.

The high profile event, taking place on May 13-14, 2015, will include educational sessions on automated demand response (OpenADR) targeted to utilities, independent system operators (ISO), regulators and control suppliers. For the full event agenda and to register, visit

Hasan will participate on the “Optimizing Buildings for OpenADR” panel on Thursday, May 14 at 1:00 p.m. PST, in which the distinguished panelists will discuss how buildings can be efficiently and effectively optimized to gain the most benefit from OpenADR programs. Additional panelists include executives from SCE, Siemens Canada and Novar.

Hasan’s portion of the presentation will include a discussion on how energy management systems and energy management as a service can help building owners and occupants to make it so their buildings can participate in both demand response and energy management programs simultaneously.

“For most small and midsize businesses, the prevailing thought is that energy conversation and sustainability does not contribute to the profitability and or efficiency of a business. However, with more small and midsize businesses utilizing cloud-based services to benefit many other areas of day-to-day operations, the implementation of energy management is making more sense,” Hasan said. “With my presentation, audience members will learn how the cloud can help enable energy management as a service to be used for demand response and ultimately maximum savings and profitability.”
